Code search system instructions, a manual of instructions for using the new system of searching by the aid of a Hollerith sorting machine evolved by Messrs Petersson and Hogan, 24 March 1947.

Details on the planning and implementation of the machine search system and the awards to Petersson and Hogan are with other records.

Photo of 1948 presentation to Hogan and Petersson is at photo record 25.

This project involved analysis of the patents so they could be coded for searching using Hollerith punched cards. This was some of the earliest automation and the Australian Patent Office was advanced compared with other Patent Offices.
