Machine searching in the Patent Office; a gems from the historic collection staff gazette article by Jean Geue from the staff gazette of 28 August 1994.
This project involved analysis of the patents so they could be coded for searching using Hollerith punched cards. This was some of the earliest automation and the Australian Patent Office was advanced compared with other Patent Offices.
